Access rules and monitoring are configured before an application launches. Where it needs a database, Google provides the managed infrastructure and maintains the machines underneath.

We monitor, back up and patch the whole Valacia platform. Bespoke applications receive that ongoing care through our Managed Service, inside the customer's own project.

Valacia brings your website and customer relationship management (CRM) system together. Business adds bookings and payments. Hosting, monitoring, backups and patching are included with every plan and the free trial.
Businesses share the platform, with each business's website, content and data isolated from the others. Google Cloud security services handle sign-in and access checks.
Each plan includes a monthly page-view allowance. If you exceed it, your website stays online with lower-resolution photographs until the month ends.
A Project Your Business Owns
A bespoke SaaS application is online software made for one business. We build it on Google Firebase in a Google Cloud project owned by your company from day one. No other business shares that project.
Your administrators grant our Identity and Access Management (IAM) permissions. They can inspect, change or revoke that access at any time.
You pay Google directly through your own billing account, at its own prices. We do not resell Google Cloud or add a margin. Your project remains yours if our Managed Service ends.
Protection At Every Level
Controlled Access From Our Side
Our people work on enrolled, centrally configured laptops and phones. One identity system governs sign-ins, each with a second check. Administrative access is limited to what the work needs.
Your Data In Agreed Regions
For bespoke applications, personal data is processed only on your company's documented instructions and in the Google Cloud regions agreed in the Quotation. General terms, clauses 9.2 and 9.4.
Encrypted Connections
Data travelling to and from Valacia websites is encrypted in transit. For an application using your own domain, we connect it, configure and renew its certificate, and manage the required DNS records without disturbing your email.
Payments Go To The Business
On Valacia Business, payments go directly to the business's own payment account. Card details never reach us. Valacia terms, clause 3.9.
Backups For Recovery
We keep managed backups on Google Cloud for every Valacia website and each application on the Managed Service. Application code is held in version control with every change recorded, so it can be rebuilt and restored. Backups give recovery a recent starting point; they do not prevent every fault.
Infrastructure Without Hardware
Google manages the data centres, servers and underlying platform. You do not need to buy, house or replace servers for your application.
Capacity That Follows Demand
Horizontal scaling spreads work across additional copies of the server-side software as demand grows.
We set ceilings on the number of copies to keep resource use efficient, and raise them as demand increases. The application is designed around Google Cloud from the beginning, with automated scaling and global delivery built into that choice.
Cloud infrastructure gives the software room to grow. It also means usage affects cost, so capacity and billing need to be understood together.
Budget Alerts Are Not A Spending Cap
We configure alerts in your project at the spending levels you choose. Your company remains responsible for watching usage and paying Google's bill.
A traffic spike, or many users reading large amounts of data, can increase that bill. Our fees are separate; they are the only money paid to us.

Google Provides The Platform
Google maintains its infrastructure under the service level agreements it publishes for many services. For Valacia, those agreements are with us. For your own project, they are with your company.
We Manage Our Software
We manage every Valacia plan. For bespoke applications on the Managed Service, we work within your project and the permissions you grant. The technical operation of a Valacia website is our responsibility.
You Keep Ownership
You control the content of your Valacia website and retain your domain. For a bespoke application, your company owns the project; its code and configuration are yours once paid for in full.

Why Do You Build On Google Cloud?
Google Cloud scales with demand, while Google maintains the machines beneath it. Knowing the platform in depth helps us price a bespoke application before building it and investigate faults once it is live. We use more than one major cloud provider and specialist suppliers for our own internal IT, choosing each for the job it does.
What Does A Custom SaaS Application Run On?
Google Firebase, part of Google Cloud. Your application has a Firebase project inside a Google Cloud project your company owns. Its server-side software and database sit there too when the application needs them. We build in your project from the start, so those parts do not need to be moved later.
Where Is My Data Kept?
For a bespoke application, the Google Cloud regions are agreed with you and recorded in your Quotation. A Valacia website is hosted on Google Cloud, and our email provider delivers its enquiry emails. Where data is handled outside the United Kingdom, we use the safeguards UK law requires for international transfers, as set out in clause 10.5 of the Valacia Terms.
What Happens If Google Cloud Has An Outage?
Google is responsible for restoring its platform. We follow its updates, keep you informed and act on anything within our control. If an outage reveals a fault in our own software on Valacia or an application we manage, we address that fault ourselves.
Do You Offer An Uptime Guarantee?
No. We monitor what we manage and act when something goes wrong, but availability also depends on Google Cloud and third parties outside our control. We do not publish an uptime percentage of our own.
Can You Host Software Another Company Built?
No. We manage the software we create: the Valacia platform and our own bespoke applications on the Managed Service. If you want us to manage an application, we design and build it first.
Can My Application Move Elsewhere?
It can move between Google Cloud projects. Moving it to a traditional web server would require separate re-engineering because it was designed for Google's platform. We would assess and quote that work separately.
Can You Reduce My Application's Cloud Bill?
On request, we may be able to reduce its running cost at some expense to speed. Our applications are already built to use resources efficiently, so there may be little scope to save. We do not promise a saving.
